U.V.Shalini Vilasathy



Smt.U.V.Shalini Vilasathy is an Indian classical dancer, choreographer and founder of ABHINAYA NATYALAYA, in chennai . She had her initial training under Kalaimamani Chandra Dhandayudapani Pillai and Kalaimamani Kutralam Selvam. She has also completed her graduation in Indian Music at Madras University. She is one of the talented students of Lt.Padma Bhushan Vempati Chinna Satyam garu, from whom she learnt Kuchupudi. She learnt nattuvangam from Lt. Padma Shri Adyar K.Lakshman and Lt.Kalaimamani M.V. Narasimhachari. She has done her masters in Indian music and also taken up teacher’s training in Tamilnadu Government Music College. Shalini has received many prestigious awards such Aadal Kalaimani, Isaimani , Naatuvanga Kalaimani , Aachariya Sironmani, Abhinaya Saraswathi, Laaya Choodarooli , Chidambaresa Natya Kalaimani, Nrithya Achariya Vipanche for her contribution. She is also entitled as a best teacher award in the year 2022. She is entitled as a GUINNESS RECORD holder for three times.She has trained over 500 students and performed many Salangai Poojas and Arangetrams.


Shalini Vilasathy started to learn at the age of 6 and later she completed her graduation in Indian music at Madras university. She started to take class in the year 1999. And at the same time she has done many government programs under the guidance of her guru Kalaimamani Chandra Dandayudapani pilai and kutralam selvam. She also learnt kuchipudi under vempati chinna sathyam Garu. After her graduation she has done her masters In Indian music and also taken teacher training at Tamilnadu government music college.. She is a master choreographer and choreographed all her pieces in kalashetra style. In the year 2006, she started abhinaya natyalaya in Villupuram. She trained over 200 students and has done many salangai poojai and arangetram. Later she started off abhinaya natyalaya in Chennai in the year 2010, and gradually she started off her branch in Valasaravakkam. She also traveled extensively all over India and presented scintillating performances. In 2023, she received the best teacher award for her dedication to this divine path of art and her receptiveness to learning and mastery in arts and aesthetics. She has been a judge in the Andhra club from the year of 2002..
