Mrs. Maheswari Jayakumar, mother of two, a former IT professional, post graduate (MSIT, MFA - Dance), who changed carrier to pursue her childhood passion – Bharatanatyam, the art learned at the age of eight and the passion to pass on the art form to aspiring learners of art with the motto - "Dance Refreshes your Mind, makes you Confident, kills the Negativity with you" started 'The Dance School', a Bharatanatyam school in Medavakkam in the year 2017.
The Dance School is a regular performer in various Temples including Chidambaram. A participant in various events including the ones by Raaba media, Chidambaram Natyanjali Trust, Karur Natyanjali. The Dance School has received number of titles including Official Guinness World record staged as ‘Sathir 10000’ on 8th Feb 2020 by Tourism Department – Tamilnadu Government at SIVET College, Gowrivakkam, Chennai and World record holder on 25th Aug 2019 for longest dance section event conducted by Raaba media at Sri Krish International School at Kovur.
Mrs. Maheswari Jayakumar has been honoured with various titles, including Teacher Excellence, Bharatha Mamani, Natyakala Rathna, Navasakthi Natya Acharya are few among others.
