Dany Leons, born on 9th November 1991, is a passionate Bharathanatyam dancer and the daughter and disciple of Natya Vidushi Dr. Brasil Leons, the Founder and Artistic Director of Yuva Deepthi Nrithyalaya, School of Performing Arts in Bangalore. Under her mother’s dedicated guidance, Dany began her Bharathanatyam training at the age of four. Her mother remains her greatest inspiration and mentor, while her father, Shri K. L. Leons, has been a constant source of encouragement and support throughout her journey. A significant milestone in her development as a dancer was her Bharathanatyam Rangapravesham (Arangetram), held on 1st November 2014.
Dany has successfully completed various levels of Bharathanatyam examinations, including the Senior Bharathanatyam Examination conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board and the Senior Grade Bharathanatyam Certification from the Bangiya Sangeet Parishad. She has also excelled in Carnatic vocal music examinations, which have enhanced her understanding of rhythm and melody, which are essential elements in classical dance.
Over the years, Dany has performed at several prestigious venues across India and has played an active role in promoting the vision of Yuva Deepthi Nrithyalaya. She currently serves as the Co-Director and Branch Instructor of the institution, taking on key responsibilities in teaching, creative direction, and event coordination. Her work reflects her dedication, creativity, and deep commitment to the art of Bharathanatyam.
Dany has a keen interest in choreography, anchoring, drawing, painting, craftwork, and keyboard playing. These artistic pursuits enrich and complement her classical training. With her unwavering dedication, artistic talent, and sincere love for Bharathanatyam, Dany stands as a true representative of classical dance excellence, continuing to inspire future generations through her graceful and committed artistic journey.
